Sometimes customers get upset. It’s unfortunately a part of selling online and we have previously written an article on how to best manage these challenging situations.
However, prevention is usually better than cure. Here’s a quick checklist on what to look out for to set expectations and prevent customer complaints in the first place.
How to set the right customer expectations
When it comes to shopping online, you can do quite a few things to help set realistic customer expectations:
- Good photography
- Clear product descriptions
- Real customer reviews
- Accurate delivery and returns expectations – make this information easy to find!
- Good packaging
- Dispatch on time or communicate if there’s a delay
- Communicate if something doesn’t go to plan
- Offer compensations before the customer gets upset
- Get on top of issues before the customer contacts you
